Welcome to my recommendations page, a curated list of the tools and websites I strongly recommend.  I have tested every recommendation on this page

Before digging into the awesome resources I know and trust, an important disclosure:

Some of the links below are affiliate links, which means that if you choose to make a purchase, I will earn a commission. This commission comes at no additional cost to you. Please understand that I have experience with all of these companies, and I recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions I make if you decide to buy something.

Ministry Recommendations

Reading Lists

I keep track of my reading recommendations through an Amazon Influencer page.  There you’ll find recommendations for books on ministry, the spiritual life, leaders, etc.

I’ve organized them by:

YDisciple

Small Group Curriculum

I often recommend a parish start small groups for those young people in a parish desiring to take their faith more seriously.  YDisciple is my go-to recommendation for small group ministry with youth.

Web Development & Graphic Design

Canva

Image / Graphic Software

I’ve used Canva since it’s inception and probably 98% of the images on my sites are made through Canva.  I am NOT a designer, but Canva makes it easy to do.  It’s easy to use, extremely affordable, and does the job for nearly any image design needs.

99designs

Logo Design

99designs has been my go to site to get good looking professional logos.  I used it to design my book cover as well.

Teachable

Create Online Courses

Teachable is what I started with when I started doing courses.  They make it extremely easy to set up a course.  It looks and works great!

If you want a good example of a course, check out my friend Edmund Mitchell’s youth ministry course which is hosted on Teachable.

Fiverr

Just about anything!

I’ve used Fiverr for super cheap logos, video intros, website help, etc.  It has quickly become the go-to site to hire out affordable help with just about anything!

Family / Personal Recommendations

Bark

Children’s Online Safety

Bark is what my wife and I have used for some time now to oversee the activities of our children online.   It sends texts and emails of any suspicious activity on nearly any device.

They offer a free trial to check it out!

Supplemental Income

Ever since college, I’ve tested out ways to supplement my income.   Here are few sites that I’ve found to be reputable and easy to use!

Ibotta

Cash Back on Purchases

I honestly don’t know much about this, but my wife lives by it.  She buys groceries, takes pictures of her receipts, and gets cash back through the app.  I wouldn’t normally recommend something I don’t know much about but she uses it and has made us quite a bit of money in return and it doesn’t seem to be much of a hassle.

Swagbucks

Get Paid for Online Activity

Our family has received over $500 in gift cards from Amazon through Swagbucks.  We participate mostly in the “cash back” opportunities now, but there are TONS of ways that you can earn!
